I developed a monthly spending worksheet to help show myself what I am spending money on and compare that to purchases I’ve wanted to make (and any debt I might have; which I have none). I had been putting off buying new shoes because “I couldn’t afford it.” Once I started tracking my Luxury spending by item, I saw quickly that I could afford to give more to charity and to buy the items I wanted (including getting a passive pick-up installed into my guitar, which I’m off to do today).

This is part of what will become the “Game Masters Handbook,” a follow up to the IRL-RPG: Player’s Guide. In the GMH Players will progress from level 25-50. In order to do so they will have to work, based on class, at a combination of the following three efforts: helping an Apprentice Player advance, helping their Party advance, and helping build a Stronghood (which will be explained later).

In addition, I hope to address and clarify some of the more complex ideas from the Players’ Guide, and offer a series of new worksheets to help Players of all level get through the game of life.

Hey all. IRL-RPG continues to sell a book or two a month. I have more ideas on how to help build and promote the “game” but I need funds. I have notes for the creation of a Game Master’s Handbook that will cover levels 26-50, and give advance IRL-RPG Players some tools to help build up lower lever Players.

This money is going to go to completing this book and publishing it, getting help with building a social network to play the game and an app to take the game mobile. I will also use the money to get both books onto Amazon.com and into book stores. I can cover all of this with $2,000.

I published the Player’s Guide a few months ago and still have only sold about 2 dozen copies. That is still cool, but not enough to get the concept out. The concept of IRL-RPG is too important to only share for profit. The few people I have had a chance to sit down with and fill out their Player Sheet with have benefited greatly from it. Whether it be the first time a Player has even sat down and accessed their finances and spending, or whether it is a Player that has never realized that they are professionally proficient in a number of skills, or a Player for the first time acknowledging the state of their physical or mental health, the Player’s Guide offers a not-to-common chance for a individual to honestly reflect on their life.

I hope this “Limited Time” promotion will help spread the concept as far as possible and to as many people as possible. I put over a year of hard work into this book, with help from friends (who graciously put up with my intensity), and was very much interested in making a profit off of it. But it is my understanding of the world that within decade or two money will be meaningless (at least for us who want it to be), and it is what we do in the meantime that is important. Are we to prevent others from being free because of our own personal greed? Should we hold back others, potentially preventing others from being happy, just so we can make a few dollars, that in decades will be meaningless? How can we look back and be happy at what we are willing to do for money, will the entire concept is irrelevant? In the mean time, IRL-RPG offers a great way to get control of your finances, so that money does not become a stressful issue, so that you do not ruin relationships over money, so that you do not destroy your physical or mental health over money. It is not money that is the root of all evil, it is THE LOVE OF MONEY that is the root of all evil. Let go of money, and of material gain and possession, of personal image, of the need to be revered, and you will free yourself to follow your dreams and live a life worth living.
